Facebook has its pluses and strengths, of course, but organization definitely isn't one of them.

So, today, I decided to try something a little different. It's something that I hope to build on - gradually - over time, going forward.

And that is to place a copy of each new posting that I create here (not comments, just the original posting) in a corresponding new thread over on the PBM Gaming Forum, along with a link that points back to the specific posting here on the Play By Mail Facebook page.

By providing the link that points back here, it should make it easy to then find and read any comments to any given thread created here, and at the same time, it will help to grow the content base of the forum.

It's not a perfect solution, but it should prove to be of some help, I think. It will for me, anyway, even if to no one else.

Just click on the link above, to get an idea of what I have in mind.

Since I don't want Facebook to suck away what little time I have left in my life, I appreciate the cross-posting here of interesting bits.

However, what I could use is the content of the post rather than just the link. Since I don't "facebook", I can't follow all the links to see what your links point to.

I don't know if cross-posting announcements & such is feasible (or legal), but it would help me a lot more than just a link (which helps me not at all).

I posted above what I posted on Facebook.

I don't post any commentary on all postings that I make on Facebook, but on this one I did. Now, if others comment on what I post on Facebook, then I won't be copying and pasting those, here, because people could come along weeks or months later, and add to the list of comments on any given posting.

The text below, which is also posted above, is more than just a link:

I also posted the image that accompanied the Facebook posting in question. Are you unable to see any of this on your end, Davin.

I could see all that, and that was good. But what I was mumbling about were all the other posts in other threads where all they had was a link to FB without any information about what it was about, much less content.

If you're referring to ones like the two below:

https://playbymail.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=59

https://playbymail.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=60

Then those are links that I've shared on Facebook from other sources, ones that I provided no commentary with, when I shared them. If you choose to not use Facebook, then you simply won't ever be able to access those.

Even those two examples that I cited mention in their titles that they are about The Isles PBM.
