down the chimney and got inside. We grabbed 157 gold. We also succeeded in nicking
some Small Shield. Golum gained 60 experience points. Azog gained 30 experience
points.
W 56 -- We realised that shop 56 is in the north side of the city. We visited the
shop there. We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. When it was clear, we tried to get
into Tasyog's Armour. It didn't work out - Golum tried to pick the lock, but failed.
We legged it.

sneaked up and robbed him blind! Golum filched 38 gold and gained 40 experience.

B 6 0 614 -- We looked around town and found what we were looking for in shop
number 30. We realised that shop 30 is in the south side of the city. We visited the
shop there. The manager of Thieves Guild looked eager for our money. Golum's
experience has served him well. His ability has now increased by a point. and Golum
now seems more alert.
During our conversation in the shop we were informed that Wittlo is roughly 24
sectors to the northwest. Rabbiting on, the manager of Thieves Guild's wife told us,
"If you are travelling between settlements and cannot think of anything to do, your
party can always practice with their weapons, or try to find new spell formulas".
B 6 0 614 -- We surveyed all the shops and found what we were looking for in
shop number 30. The manager of Thieves Guild was delighted to meet us. Golum
couldn't afford a Thief Skill. Our party lent Golum the money for a Thief Skill.
Golum's experience has served him well. His ability has now increased by a point.
and Golum now seems more alert.
During our conversation in the shop we learnt that Baldor is one of the eight gods!
B 99 82 313 -- We realised that shop 82 is in the north side of the city. We
visited the shop there. The manager of Journeys wasn't here, but an assistant looked
after us. We handed over 630 gold, received our tickets and were shown where to go
to the coach.
While we were in the shop a task was offered to us: Journey to the village of
Jydop(72). You're to go there, then return here with details of what prices are
being offered there for hides etc. For this task you will each receive 84 gold. You
have until the end of the next turn or game week to accept after which it may be
offered to another party. Do Y 1880 to commence this venture.
While chatting in the shop we were told that Phorensim is nearly 39 sectors to the
northwest.
We found the stagecoach loading point, where we got bored waiting to board until the
coach came and we got on. They had to bring two extra stage coaches to take us all!
Things were quiet, we all slept a bit. After some time, we arrived, sore but in one
piece.
SO's
I 0 -- Burnton was devoid of any other adventuring parties. We looked around some
of the shops and spotted a hidden shop, Bricked Up Warehouse(23), in the centre of
the city.

and are particularly interested in dwarf fighters.
P 0 -- Our priests communed with the gods. The efforts of our priests were
recognised, and rewarded.
P 0 -- Our priests prayed for several hours. The gods must have lots to do. They
don't appear to have heard.
P 0 -- Our priests led worship to the gods. We got no reward. Borin's excuse was
"That rabbit stew upset my stomach!".
We're in Burnton. We spent the night in town, sleeping rough. All food consumed. We
were able to buy some rations for 5 gold. We regained 27 power points overnight. Our
recruitment offer attracted interest. The 3 new recruits are listed below. Use an X
order to have any join. Don't forget it will cost you 202 gold for each one. We read
a notice proclaiming that these rewards will be paid by the city officials of

Turn 11
And its finally time for combat to begin with the nearby 8 Goblins. We start with casting Enchant Weapons 1 on all or weapons just in case we bump into something hidden like a were-creature or elemental. C 4 2 99
Move out of the City onto the Goblins. With our hostile to all monsters attitude set there's definitely going to be a fight. Our 1st encounter leaves them with 5 dead aand 3 wounded and gaining us our 1st + weapon a light crossbow+1. We set wilderness speed to fast with S 1 so we have more movement points next turn. We engage them with E 0 for a 2nd fight wiping them out entirely. Then move back to the City. Party is uninjured which is very lucky.
C 1 702 99 -- The party feels somewhat luckier. This spell cost 8 power points
and Borin gained 16 experience points.
C 2 903 99 -- A spirit aligned to Novala appeared and agreed to help our party
for the rest of the turn. This spell cost 12 power points and gave Faramir 24
experience points.
C 3 703 99 -- Our party became invisible for a while. This spell cost 12 power
points and Azog gained 24 experience points.
W 60 -- We realised that shop 60 is in the north side of the city. We visited the
shop there. We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. When we saw the lights in Temple
Of Baldor fade and the owner leave, we slowly approached. Golum whooped with joy as
he managed to prise open a window with his Thieve's Guild membership card. We made
off with 274 gold. Golum gained 35 experience points. Azog gained 17 experience
points.
W 62 -- We realised that shop 62 is in the south side of the city. We visited the
shop there. We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. We stealthily sneaked up to the
back door of Temple Of Garthrana. The defences of Temple Of Garthrana were no match
for Golum's skills, so in we went. We happily "borrowed" 312 gold from the generous
proprietor. Golum gained 35 experience points. Azog gained 17 experience points.
C 4 2 99 -- Our spell temporarily enchanted 15 characters' weapons. This spell
cost 19 power points and gained 10 experience points for Gandalf.
T 22 -- It's in the south side of the city. The owner of Six-Legged Orc was too
busy to speak to us. We went in search of any customers to chat a bit. It was not a
friendly place.
T 24 -- It took us a while to find the shop. It's in the west side of the city.
Looking around the place, we noticed it didn't seem too well defended. We had a
discussion with the owner of Three Bottoms who gave us some food while talking.
When we were in the shop we were offered a venture: Journey to the village of
Forthif(64). You're to transport an important message there and hand it to Tufilok
(shop #22). For this task you will each be given 26 gold. You have until the end of
the next turn or game week to accept after which it may be offered to another party.
Do Y 1572 to begin this task.
We went in search of any customers to have a gossip.
We met STIFOPET, an elf(6711), who helpfully suggested, "In general, the larger an
adventuring party, the tougher it is".
During our conversation in the shop we were told that Hart Stop is nearly 13 days
west.
T 26 -- It took us a while to discover the shop. It's in the south side of the
city. The owner of Jaded Rat couldn't chat just now. We turned to talk to the
customers to have a gossip. Unfortunately it was a most unfriendly place.
M 12 -- We left Burnton(3) behind. We moved north using up 4 movement points. We
ended up in the open.
We moved northeast using up 4 movement points. We ended up in the open.
During our travels, we met eight Goblins(4823). (Blurb given below).
When we got nearer to them, we took a careful look at them. There were eight
Goblins. (3 Goblin Shamans, 1 Goblin Archer, 1 Goblin Hero, 2 Goblins and 1 Scrote).
They did not appear to be injured.
Lorin's light crossbow fired, hitting Smunk, the Goblin Archer. It was
momentarily knocked to the ground. Boromir did away with the short, fat and smelly
Goblin. It died, punctured through both of its lungs. Blood welled from the mouth of
the corpse.
Savage intent was etched on the faces of all as the enemy took their first
fatality.
Forin's light crossbow fired, hitting the scrawny Goblin Hero, passing nearly
through the body. With another death, the heroes pressed their momentary advantage.
Jorin espied the short Goblin Shaman. He advanced towards the enemy quickly in
pursuit. Dorin's light crossbow sang, striking the horrible Goblin deeply in the
guts. Aiming his light crossbow, Gorbag released the bolt, hitting the dreadful
Goblin Shaman. It bled profusely from the quarrel wound. Boromir's light crossbow
fired, striking the short and fat Goblin Shaman. It reeled backwards as the quarrel
tore through flesh. Jorin's light crossbow fired, hitting the short Goblin Shaman in
the throat.
A badly fletched bolt screamed as it drifted away from its target.
Carelessly Gandalf fired a quarrel, within an inch of the short Goblin Shaman's
leathery body. "You can't run from us, scum!"
Screams and insults were now forgotten as another monster died as all were
concentrating on the fight.
Horin butchered the dirty little Scrote. It died, punctured through both of its
lungs. Blood welled from the mouth of the corpse.
The enemy fled. We got 255 gold from lair of the dead Goblins. We skinned the
dead and got five Goblin Hides. We acquired an item that the Goblins left behind. [
oiled light crossbow+1(142540)]. As the enemy disappeared, we noticed that one was
slightly injured and two were seriously injured. We earned 100 experience points.

During our travels, we came upon three Goblins(4823). (Blurb given below). We've
found our target!
As we got nearer to them, we gave them the once over. There were three Goblins. (2
Goblin Shamans and 1 Goblin). One was slightly injured and two were seriously
injured.
Dorin slew the horrible Goblin with a shot that pierced its eye. The bolt
remained sticking out of the bloody corpse.
'You're just the first to die today,' was taunted as the first enemy was wasted.
Stubby fletchings on crossbow bolts ripped through the air towards their targets.
Horin brought death to the short and fat Goblin Shaman. It fell to the ground
stunned. "Bastard," was its last word before dying.
'Come get some,' was taunted as another enemy was removed from the fight.
Gorbag the fighter watched the short Goblin Shaman. He gave chase resolutely
across the dirt and dust. Porin annihilated the short Goblin Shaman. It died in a
shower of its blood. Urine leaked from the pants of the corpse mixing with the
pooling blood.
The enemy was dead. We got 172 gold from the lair of the dead Goblins. We skinned
the dead and got three Goblin Hides. We earned 15 experience points.

During our journey, we came across a Moridrake(9606). (Blurb given below).
As we got nearer to it, we gave it the once over. (1 Moridrake). It did not appear
to be injured.
Dorin's light crossbow sang, striking the ferocious Moridrake, causing a
momentary lapse of concentration.
Death in the form of a steel tipped bolt hurtled through the air.
Ragbok impetuously fired a quarrel, narrowly missing the ferocious Moridrake's
armour clad leg. Having spanned his light crossbow, Porin pulled the trigger,
watching as the bolt struck the ferocious Moridrake, causing a minor wound. Swiftly
Faramir the human priest looked around the area. He set off towards the enemy. Horin
pulled the trigger, watching as the bolt struck the ferocious Moridrake, dislodging
large scales and sinking deep into flesh. Horin's light crossbow fired, striking the

his light crossbow, Porin fired the black feathered quarrel, hitting the evil
smelling Gnoll Digger. It began to bleed from the bolt wound. Jorin's light crossbow
fired, striking the brown Gnoll in the groin.
Bolts and quarrels hammered into the ground around the enemy.
Dorin fired the black feathered quarrel, winging the scar-faced Gnoll Digger. It

"Bastard," was its last word before dying.
'You're just the first to die today,' was taunted as the first enemy was wasted.
Porin's light crossbow fired, hitting the evil smelling Gnoll Digger. It was
wounded close to the heart. 'Come get some,' was taunted as another enemy was
removed from the fight.
The body count had begun as more died.
The monsters were being ground into dust by the heroes' relentless attacks.
Ragbok the fighter charged forwards resolutely intent on battle. Golum shot the
ugly Gnoll Digger. It was lightly wounded in the side. Jorin's light crossbow sang,
striking the fat headed Gnoll Digger in the throat. Violently thrusting its short
spear, the ugly Gnoll Digger grinned maniacally, striking Golum. He sought to stem

approached Azudur's Gems. It went wrong - Golum tried to pick the lock, but failed.
Dejected, we left.
C 2 603 99 -- Several townsfolk ran riot, causing chaos everywhere, by looting
shops and killing fellow citizens. This spell cost 12 power points and gained 24
experience points for Faramir.
W 34 -- We realised that shop 34 is in the centre of the city. We visited the
shop there. We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. After a quick prayer to Novala, we
tried to break into Nhilinoz's Cash. Golum climbed down the chimney and got inside.
Golum found the main safe ransacked. A smaller, hidden one did provide 741 gold.
Golum gained 85 experience points. Azog gained 42 experience points.
W 35 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. Convinced that all gold belongs to
us, we approached Nhilinoz's Deposit in order to make a withdrawal. Our attempt to
enter the building failed - We thought we heard someone, panicked, and ran off.
C 3 603 99 -- Several townsfolk ran riot, causing chaos everywhere, by looting
shops and killing fellow citizens. This spell cost 12 power points and Azog gained
24 experience points.
W 36 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. We waited for the dark of night
before pitting our wits against the defences of Nhilinoz's Withdraw. We offered our
thanks to Novala as the door opened before us. We got some treasure that had been
dropped by earlier robbers. This amounted to 452 gold. Golum gained 85 experience
points. Azog gained 42 experience points.
W 37 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. We waited until no one was about
then tried to enter Nhilinoz's Credits. It was all for nothing - Golum tried to pick
the lock, but failed. We walked away, ashamed and penniless.

cautiously and located his money pouch. Golum stole 38 gold and gained 60

S 6711 -- Golum was sent to try to steal from this NPC. Golum carefully sneaked up
and located his money pouch. Golum managed to get away with 21 gold and gained 70
experience.
B 6 0 614 -- We searched the entire town and found what we were looking for in
shop number 28. We realised that shop 28 is in the west side of the city. We visited
the shop there. The manager of Thieves Guild was having a snack, which he finished,
then dealt with us. Golum couldn't afford a Thief Skill. Our party lent Golum the
money for a Thief Skill. Golum's experience has served him well. His ability has now
increased by a point. and Golum now seems more alert.
While we were in the shop this task was offered to us: Journey to the village of
Ancoax(78). You're to go there, then return here with details of what prices are
being offered there for hides etc. For this task you will each get 84 gold. You have
until the end of the next turn or game week to accept after which it may be offered
to another party. Do Y 1383 to go this task.
As a result of our chatting in the shop we were informed that Baldor is one of the
eight gods! A cheeky young kid shouted out, "The battle reports found in newspapers,
which can be bought from towns and cities, are a good indication of how tough nearby
monsters and parties are". He might have said more, but Dorin smacked him across the
side of his head, so he ran off.
B 99 82 313 -- We realised that shop 82 is in the north side of the city. We
visited the shop there. The manager of Journeys was delighted to meet us. We handed
over 731 gold, were given our tickets and were told where to go to the coach.
While we were in the shop we got offered a quest: Travel to the village of

being offered there for hides etc. For this task you will each get 84 gold. You have
until the end of the next turn or game week to accept after which it may be offered
to another party. Do Y 3945 to start this quest.
We found the stagecoach loading point, where we waited until the coach came and we
got on. They had to bring two extra stage coaches to take us all! An interminably
long period of time passed on the journey. It took a while, but we got there in the
end.

Turn 15
A couple of wilderness encounters has left us with a few slightly injured. Will Heal 101 that next Turn.
C 1 903 99 -- A spirit aligned to Novala appeared and agreed to help our party
for the rest of the turn. This spell cost 12 power points and gave Borin 24
experience points.
W 44 -- We realised that shop 44 is in the south side of the city. We visited the
shop there. We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. After the owner had closed the
building and left, we made tracks towards Uxoa's Gems. Easy. Golum picked the lock
in no time. We ransacked the place and liberated 1743 gold. We also managed to steal
an Azimure Gem. Golum gained 85 experience points. Azog gained 42 experience points.
W 45 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. Golum was feeling lucky, so we
tried to break into Cogicel's Gems. The burglary failed - "The poor owner has a
family, for Baldor's sake!" exclaimed Golum.
C 2 603 99 -- Several townsfolk ran riot, causing chaos everywhere, by looting
shops and killing fellow citizens. This spell cost 12 power points and Faramir
gained 24 experience points.
W 35 -- We realised that shop 35 is in the west side of the city. We visited the
shop there. We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. Once everything went quiet we
silently approached Axucihar's Cash. We levered open a side window, and were soon
inside. A veritable treasure trove, we helped ourselves to 1116 gold. Golum gained
85 experience points. Azog gained 42 experience points.
W 36 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. When it was clear, we tried to get
into Axucihar's Deposit. It went wrong - Golum picked, hit, bit, wrenched and even
chewed at the lock, but it wouldn't budge. We couldn't get in.
C 3 603 99 -- Several townsfolk ran riot, causing chaos everywhere, by looting
shops and killing fellow citizens. This spell cost 12 power points and Azog gained
24 experience points.
W 37 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. When we saw the lights in
Axucihar's Withdraw fade and the owner leave, we slowly approached. Our attempt to
enter the building failed - "The poor owner has a family, for Baldor's sake!"
exclaimed Golum.
W 38 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. After the owner had closed the
building and left, we made tracks towards Axucihar's Credits. There was no trouble
breaking in. "I hate thieves," said Golum. "They took most of it. I could only find
779 gold. "Golum gained 85 experience points. Azog gained 42 experience points.
B 6 0 614 -- We searched the entire town and found what we were looking for in
shop number 70. We realised that shop 70 is in the centre of the city. We visited
the shop there. The chief priest was most effusive in his greeting. Golum couldn't
afford a Thief Skill. Our party lent Golum the money for a Thief Skill. Golum's
experience has served him well. His ability has now increased by a point. and Golum
now seems more alert.
While talking in the shop a mission was offered to us: Travel to the city of
Kos(14). You're to go there, then return here with details of what prices are being
offered there for hides etc. For this task you will each get 84 gold. You have until
the end of the next turn or game week to accept after which it may be offered to
another party. Do Y 2892 to accept this venture.
An old crone sitting on a stool in the corner of the shop cackled, "Moving slowly
can make a big difference to your success in discovering hidden shops and terrain
features. Most town thieves aren't interested in new groups, no matter what speed
they are moving at".
B 6 0 614 -- We looked around town and found what we were looking for in shop
number 70. The chief priest looked after us like long-lost friends. Golum couldn't
afford a Thief Skill. Our party lent Golum the money for a Thief Skill. Golum's
experience has served him well. His ability has now increased by a point. and Golum
now seems more alert.
While chatting in the shop we were informed that Baldor is one of the eight gods!
B 6 0 614 -- We surveyed all the shops and found what we were looking for in
shop number 70. The chief priest was having a snack, which he finished, then dealt
with us. Golum couldn't afford a Thief Skill. Our party lent Golum the money for a
Thief Skill. Golum's experience has served him well. His ability has now increased
by a point. and Golum now seems more alert.
During our conversation in the shop we learnt that Hart Stop is roughly 14 days
west.
M 55 -- We left Antrose(1) behind as we moved on. We moved south using up 6
movement points. Now we are deep in the Forest Of Eroir.
During our journey, we met a Fairy Folk(9264). (Blurb given below).
As we approached it, we took a careful look at it. (1 Fairy). It did not appear to
be injured.
Ragbok the halfblood slunk into the shadows craftily intent on battle. Azog was
charmed into not fighting by the delicate Fairy. The delicate Fairy sent Gorbag to
sleep. The delicate Fairy fired the black feathered quarrel, winging Porin. He
cheated death as the bolt missed the heart. Azog retreated. The delicate Fairy
released the bolt, hitting Saruman, grazing the scalp. Gorbag woke up. Horin
released the quarrel, it hurtled through the air striking the delicate Fairy,
causing a momentary lapse of concentration. Lorin was charmed into not fighting by
the delicate Fairy. Lorin retreated. Forin's light crossbow sang, striking the
delicate Fairy. It received a major wound. Ragbok made the shot, the bolt hurtled
through the air striking the delicate Fairy. It screamed in agony as the bolt struck.
Already the cowards and the wounded took to their heels.
Golum fired, striking the delicate Fairy. It reeled backwards as the quarrel tore
through flesh. Boromir fired, the bolt skittered past the delicate Fairy. Dorin
butchered the delicate Fairy. It staggered then crumpled. "For glory or ....." were
its final unfinished words.
The enemy was dead. We got 228 gold from the lair of the dead Fairy Folk. We
earned 60 experience points.

We went south using up 6 movement points. We found ourselves deep in the Forest Of
Eroir.
As we moved along, we came across four Wild Dogs(8557). (Blurb given below).
As we approached them, we took a careful look at them. There were four Wild Dogs. (4
Wild Dogs). They did not appear to be injured.
Quickly Porin the fighter tracked the mangy Wild Dog. He lunged towards the enemy
through the forest. Porin fired, striking the mangy Wild Dog, passing nearly through
the body. The leathery creature was staggered by the impact. The blow bit deep into
the leg of the mangy Wild Dog, mangling it. The small body was finally trod into the
ground.
The chanting of battle songs crescendoed as the first enemy was slain.
Lorin pulled the trigger, releasing a quarrel, the bolt whistled past the
insignificant Wild Dog. Eyes moving quickly, Forin the fighter took stock of the
glade. He gave chase. Dorin fired the black feathered bolt, it hurtled through the
air striking the insignificant Wild Dog. It bled from the savage wound. With two of
the enemy slain, the heroes fought on with purpose.
Death in the form of a steel tipped bolt hurtled through the air.
Faramir cast miracle Healing at all the party. The small Wild Dog's slavering
jaws struck Golum. Golum staggered backwards. Quickly the death count rose.
The savagery of the combat was plain to see with the corpse-littered battlefield.
Raising his light crossbow, Ragbok made the shot, the bolt hurtled through the
air striking the small Wild Dog. It reeled backwards. The hairy body was pierced,
driving the soul from the small Wild Dog, killing it. A heel ground the dead beast
into little more than a dirty stain.
The enemy was dead. We got no gold from this fight. We earned 48 experience
points.

Turn 16
Healing was cast before any battles to get Group onto full Health. C 1 101 99
Way too many monster battles this turn including 1 gang of Gnolls hiding under a smaller bunch.
Close to losing Priest Azog [12/63]. he'll need several healing miracles next turn.
Gained plenty of + plunder though.
C 1 903 99 -- A spirit aligned to Novala appeared and agreed to help our party
for the rest of the turn. This spell cost 12 power points and Borin gained 24
experience points.
W 44 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. We stealthily sneaked up to the
back door of Uxoa's Gems. The defences of Uxoa's Gems were no match for Golum's
skills, so in we went. We stole a total of 1255 gold. We also got away with a Mycrom
Gem. Golum gained 85 experience points. Azog gained 42 experience points.
W 45 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. Hugging the shadows, we stealthily
made our way towards Cogicel's Gems. The attempt was unsuccessful - We couldn't get
into Cogicel's Gems so came away without a sausage.
We concealed ourselves in the
shadows, waiting until we were sure Axucihar's Cash was empty. It went wrong - We
couldn't get into Axucihar's Cash so came away penniless.
W 36 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. We concealed ourselves in the
shadows, waiting until we were sure Axucihar's Deposit was empty. It went wrong - We
couldn't get into Axucihar's Deposit so came away penniless.
C 3 603 99 -- Several townsfolk ran riot, causing chaos everywhere, by looting
shops and killing fellow citizens. This spell cost 12 power points and Azog gained
24 experience points.
W 37 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. After it went quiet, we cautiously
approached Axucihar's Withdraw. Novala's blessing was with us as we crept into
Axucihar's Withdraw. We saw a thief leaving as Golum entered. Hardly surprising we
only got 298 gold. Golum gained 85 experience points. Azog gained 42 experience
points.
W 38 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. After dark, we approached
Axucihar's Credits. It was all for nothing - We kicked boxes over getting in. It
made some noise, so we scarpered.
C 1 101 99 -- 2 party members feel better. This spell cost 4 power points and
gained 20 experience points for Borin.
B 6 0 614 -- We searched the entire town and found what we were looking for in
shop number 70. We realised that shop 70 is in the centre of the city. We visited
the shop there. The chief priest wasn't here, but an assistant looked after us.
Golum couldn't afford a Thief Skill. Our party lent Golum the money for a Thief
Skill. Golum's experience has served him well. His ability has now increased by a
point. and Golum now seems more alert.
During our conversation in the shop we were told that Wittlo is around about 69
sectors to the southwest. The assistant kept us talking. We were told, "The marching
order of your party is also the order in which the characters enter combat".
B 6 0 614 -- We looked around town and found what we were looking for in shop
number 70. The chief priest sent an assistant, who attended to us. Golum couldn't
afford a Thief Skill. Our party lent Golum the money for a Thief Skill. Golum lacked
the experience to benefit from the training.
During our conversation in the shop we learnt that Wittlo is around about 12 days
travel southwest.
M 24 -- We left Antrose(1) behind as we moved on. We moved northeast using up 6
movement points. We are now deep in the Forest Of Eroir.
As we moved along, we came across eighteen Goblins(8332). (Blurb given below).
When we got nearer to them, we gave them the once over. There were eighteen Goblins.
(1 Goblin King, 1 Goblin Leader, 1 Goblin Shaman, 2 Goblin Archers, 2 Goblin Heroes,
8 Goblins and 3 Scrotes). They did not appear to be injured.
Borin the priest set off towards the enemy swiftly across the woods. Ragbok
dispatched the dirty little Scrote. It fell to the ground stunned. "Bastard," was
its last word before dying.
'You're just the first to die today,' was taunted as the first enemy was wasted.
The deaths of the enemy fired the heroes' blood.
Whispering, "Tear their worthless guts open" to his light crossbow, Jorin made
the shot, the bolt hurtled through the air striking the green Goblin deeply in the
guts. "You can't run from us, scum!"
Another monster was brutally slain.
Bolts and quarrels hammered into the ground around the enemy.
Forin made the shot, the bolt hurtled through the air striking Scnak, the Goblin
Archer in the throat. Porin's light crossbow sang, striking Azog, the Goblin King.
It gasped as the bolt hit. Horin released the quarrel, it hurtled through the air
striking Bogrin, the Goblin Leader. It began to bleed from the bolt wound. Lorin
shot the hairy Goblin. It nearly lost an eye to the crossbow bolt. Forin shot the
piggy eyed Goblin Hero. It was hit in the arm. Holding his light crossbow, Boromir
made the shot, the bolt hurtled through the air striking the squint-eyed Goblin
Shaman. It was wounded close to the heart. Blood and gore from the many that had
been butchered smeared the ground.
Boromir made the shot, the bolt hurtled through the air striking Smunk, the
Goblin Archer. It staggered under the impact of the bolt. Azog, the Goblin King
swept a wicked blow, bashing Azog along the forearm. Azog, the Goblin King swung,
striking Azog, to the sound of crunching bone. Whispering, "Tear their worthless
guts open" to his light crossbow, Jorin released the quarrel, it hurtled through the
air striking Azog, the Goblin King. It was wounded close to the heart. Lorin fired,
hitting the short and fat Goblin Hero, passing nearly through the body. Azog
retreated. Gorbag annihilated the smelly Goblin. It lay on the ground trying in vain
to remove the quarrel. Slowly its life trickled away.
A cry of, "I'll be back," emerged from the lips of one of the vanquished.
The enemy fled. We got 722 gold from lair of the dead Goblins. We skinned the
dead and got fourteen Goblin Hides. We acquired items that the Goblins left behind. [

When we got nearer to them, we counted their numbers. There were two Gnolls. (2
Gnolls). They did not appear to be injured.
Azog retreated. A test of valour proved too much for some.
Jorin's light crossbow sang, striking the grim faced Gnoll. It was momentarily
knocked to the ground.
Black fletchings tore through the air as they sped though the sky.
Horin brought death to the grim faced Gnoll. It fell to the ground stunned.
"Bastard," was its last word before dying.
A cheer of victory went up as the first of the enemy was slain.
Dorin released the quarrel, it hurtled through the air striking the big toothed
Gnoll in the chest. Gorbag fired, hitting the big toothed Gnoll. It was struck in

E 0 -- Our party are looking for a fight.
As we moved along, we came upon eight Gnolls(5420). (Blurb given below). We've found
our target!
As we drew closer to them, we examined them with a keen eye. There were eight
Gnolls. (1 Dominant Gnoll, 3 Gnoll Diggers, 2 Gnolls and 2 Curs). They did not
appear to be injured.
We had the element of surprise. Azog retreated. The combat became more one sided.
Carelessly Horin fired a quarrel, the bolt whistled past the tattooed Gnoll's
scarred body. Lorin made the shot, the bolt hurtled through the air striking the
skinny Cur. It was wounded close to the heart.
Death in the form of a steel tipped bolt hurtled through the air.
Porin fired, striking the short and fat Gnoll Digger in the face. Sighting down
the length of the quarrel in his light crossbow, Golum fired, striking the smeggy
Cur. It was struck high in the chest by the bolt. Lorin the dwarven fighter gave
chase forcefully across the woods. Jorin released the bolt, striking the repulsive
Gnoll Digger. It was struck high in the chest by the bolt. Porin released the
quarrel, it hurtled through the air striking the short and fat Gnoll Digger in the
throat. Sighting down the length of the quarrel in his light crossbow, Forin
released the bolt, striking the evil smelling Gnoll Digger in a spray of blood.
Holding his light crossbow, Boromir fired the black feathered bolt, it hurtled
through the air striking the repulsive Gnoll Digger in the groin. Dorin released the
quarrel, it hurtled through the air striking the tattooed Gnoll. It reeled backwards
as the quarrel tore through flesh. Lorin fired, striking the hairy Dominant Gnoll.
It began to bleed from the bolt wound. Golum's light crossbow fired, striking the
fat Gnoll in the face. Dorin dispatched the tattooed Gnoll. It died, punctured
through both of its lungs. Blood welled from the mouth of the corpse.
A vocal battlecry was vented as the first enemy was destroyed.
Forin's light crossbow sang, striking the hairy Dominant Gnoll. It was
momentarily knocked to the ground. Gandalf's light crossbow fired, hitting the fat
Gnoll. It staggered under the impact of the bolt. Lorin shot the hairy Dominant
Gnoll in the groin. Boromir killed the fat Gnoll with a shot through the side of its
head. The bolt lodged, projecting out of both ears.
With victory inching closer the heroes screamed insults.
Gorbag slew the hairy Dominant Gnoll. It gripped its heart and died trying to
pull out the bolt.
The monsters were being ground into dust by the heroes' relentless attacks.
The enemy fled. We got 87 gold from lair of the dead Gnolls. We skinned the dead

Quickly Faramir the priest checked the forest. He set off towards the foe
preparing for battle. Gorbag mowed down Bogrin, the Goblin Leader. It flew backwards

Savage intent was etched on the faces of all as the enemy took their first

Lot of Healing miracles 101. Then out to slay the 5 Gnolls from last turn. Gained some +2 armour.
Also walked over NPC's but they just fled. Sometimes they have advice. You can set different attitudes to them as we did with Monsters.
C 1 903 99 -- A spirit aligned to Novala appeared and agreed to help our party
for the rest of the turn. This spell cost 12 power points and Borin gained 24
experience points.
W 44 -- We realised that shop 44 is in the south side of the city. We visited the
shop there. We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. After it went quiet, we cautiously
approached Uxoa's Gems. It didn't work out - We couldn't get into Uxoa's Gems so
came away empty handed.
W 45 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. When it was clear, we tried to get
into Cogicel's Gems. It didn't work out - Golum tried to pick the lock, but failed.
Dejected, we left.
C 2 603 99 -- Several townsfolk ran riot, causing chaos everywhere, by looting
shops and killing fellow citizens. This spell cost 12 power points and gained 24
experience points for Faramir.
W 35 -- We realised that shop 35 is in the west side of the city. We visited the
shop there. We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. We concealed ourselves in the
shadows, waiting until we were sure Axucihar's Cash was empty. We failed to get in -
Whoever made this lock sure didn't want it to be picked! We left with nothing.
W 36 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. We concealed ourselves in the
shadows, waiting until we were sure Axucihar's Deposit was empty. We failed to get
in - Whoever made this lock sure didn't want it to be picked! We left with nothing.
C 3 603 99 -- Several townsfolk ran riot, causing chaos everywhere, by looting
shops and killing fellow citizens. This spell cost 12 power points and gained 24
experience points for Azog.
W 37 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. We waited until no one was about
then tried to enter Axucihar's Withdraw. The lock resisted the hairpin, but not the
battleaxe! We're in. Grumbling about choosing a regular target for thieves, Golum
only found 372 gold. Golum gained 85 experience points. Azog gained 42 experience
points.
W 38 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. Convinced that all gold belongs to
us, we approached Axucihar's Credits in order to make a withdrawal. Our attempt to
enter the building failed - We thought we heard someone, panicked, and got out of
there.
C 1 101 99 -- Azog feels better. This spell cost 4 power points and Borin

During our journey, we came across ROKIPAR(5983). ROKIPAR fled before we could get
anywhere near him.
We trekked east using up 4 movement points. We found ourselves in Antrose fields.
During our travels, we encountered RAMIS(6195). RAMIS fled before we could get

We went north using up 6 movement points. We are now deep in the Forest Of Eroir.
During our travels, we met five Gnolls(5420). (Blurb given below).
As we approached them, we counted their numbers. There were five Gnolls. (3 Gnoll
Diggers and 2 Curs). Two were slightly injured and three were seriously injured.
Eyes moving quickly, Boromir the human espied the smeggy Cur. He set off towards
the foe across the open glade. Jorin butchered the smeggy Cur from thirty feet. The
quarrel hammered into its heart.
'And die you Bastard,' was screamed with the defeat of the enemy.
With another death, the heroes pressed their momentary advantage.
The body count had begun as more died.
Screams and insults were now forgotten as another monster died as all were
concentrating on the fight.
Boromir the human fighter looked around the nearby trees. He closed with the
enemy resolutely with grim intent.
The sound of crossbows hurling pain and death was lost in the screams of battle.
Forin pulled the trigger, releasing a quarrel, within an inch of the short and
fat Gnoll Digger's fleshy body. Gorbag wasted the repulsive Gnoll Digger. It gripped
its heart and died trying to pull out the bolt.
The enemy was dead. We got 72 gold from the lair of the dead Gnolls. We skinned

Turn 20
And we finish Turn 20 with our 2 mages buying some powder packs 300 so they can attempt to self-learn some of the spells we know.
Move out of town and back again encountering quite a few monsters. Groups a bit bruised though nothing a few Healing miracles can't fix. Gained a few more + items which were handed to character 3. He now has quite a collection ready to be shared amongst the Group. Great Axe+4 is especially nice as this level of + makes it a naturally magical weapon so can harm special creatures without needing spells.
So that is how we'd transfer to G20. Thief in good shape able to rob tough shops with Priests support of course. And enough cheap warriors to have at least some battle fun. Though you need to pick your battles carefully. Many monsters would tear through this young Group without a care. We do have something called the 'anti-annihilation' routine which will cancel a fight if its heavily one-sided against you.
If things do go really badly in Demo G19 there's always an option to drop the Group and try again from scratch back at Turn 1.
Noticed i never really used my Mages in combat. Maybe if they'd started with sleep 1 spell i would've set that up to auto-cast like with the Priests Healing miracle. Sleeping foes are easy kills though it'll only work against weak foes.
One of the final things i should do is to move the characters around. 99% of the time Fighters go at the front, followed by Priests, then Mages and finally Thief. Characters towards the back are better protected so safer in combat. Characters can be easily moved armound using the Swap character SC order
Happy Questing,
C 1 903 99 -- A spirit aligned to Novala appeared and agreed to help our party
for the rest of the turn. This spell cost 12 power points and gave Borin 24
experience points.
W 29 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. We concealed ourselves in the
shadows, waiting until we were sure Oke's Gems was empty. We got into the place. We
staggered out of the place with 1361 gold. Golum gained 85 experience points. Azog
gained 42 experience points.
W 33 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. After we made sure it was quiet, we
carefully approached Orunoket's Cash. The rusty old lock crumbled in Golum's hands.
We went in. We ransacked the place and liberated 1042 gold. Golum gained 85
experience points. Azog gained 42 experience points.
C 2 603 99 -- Several townsfolk ran riot, causing chaos everywhere, by looting
shops and killing fellow citizens. This spell cost 12 power points and gave Faramir
24 experience points.
W 34 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. We concealed ourselves in the
shadows, waiting until we were sure Orunoket's Deposit was empty. We were
unsuccessful - It would appear that Golum has all the lockpicking skill of a
Quikadu.
W 35 -- We sent Golum, with Azog as look out. After a quick prayer to Novala, we
tried to break into Orunoket's Withdraw. The defences of Orunoket's Withdraw were no
match for Golum's skills, so in we went. We found less than expected due to previous
burglars. Only 762 gold was stolen. Golum gained 85 experience points. Azog gained

total of 444 gold. Golum gained 85 experience points. Azog gained 42 experience
points.

Pack. Gandalf bought a Powder Pack costing 750 gold.
While talking in the shop we got offered a mission: Journey to the village of
Munsk(86). You're to go there, then return here with details of what prices are
being offered there for hides etc. For this task you will each receive 84 gold. You
have until the end of the next turn or game week to accept after which it may be
offered to another party. Do Y 3497 to begin this task.
B 5 0 300 -- We surveyed all the shops and found what we were looking for in

as he attended to us. Saruman couldn't afford a Powder Pack. Our party lent Saruman
the money for a Powder Pack. Saruman purchased a Powder Pack at a cost of 750 gold.
A cheeky young kid shouted out, "Paying to spend the night in respectable
accomodation makes your party a much harder target for a settlement's thieves". He
might have said more, but Boromir smacked him across the side of his head, so he ran
off.
B 4 0 300 -- We surveyed all the shops and found what we were looking for in

As we drew closer to them, we gave them the once over. There were fifteen Kobolds. (
1 Kobold King, 2 Mighty Kobolds, 5 Kobolds and 7 Kobs). They did not appear to be
injured.
We had the element of surprise. Horin the dwarf scoured the area. He stomped
towards the enemy on short thick legs preparing for battle. Bracing his light
crossbow, Porin released the bolt, hitting the big Mighty Kobold, the bolt finding
flesh. Lorin dispatched the titchy Kob from thirty feet. The quarrel hammered into
its heart.
A vocal battlecry was vented as the first enemy was destroyed.
Thick bolts rained down from the sky.
Forin fired the black feathered quarrel, winging the short, fat and smelly Kobold.
It was wounded close to the heart. 'You'll have to do better than that,' remarked
one of the heroes at the death of the second enemy.
While looking for the enemy leader, Lorin the dwarf saw the mud splattered Kobold.
He stomped off, pounding the ground with heavy boots across the dirt and dust. Porin
pulled the trigger, watching as the bolt struck the big Mighty Kobold. It reeled in
agony. Body parts littered the battlefield as the combat progressed.
Death was creeping over the enemy in the form of the heroes' weapons.

Holding his light crossbow, Golum made the shot, the bolt hurtled through the air
striking the dirty little Kob. It was struck high in the chest by the bolt. Porin
fired the black feathered quarrel, hitting the weasely Kob in a spray of blood.
Boromir fired, hitting the fat Mighty Kobold, passing nearly through the body. Dorin
released the quarrel, it hurtled through the air striking the fat Mighty Kobold. It
was hit in the throat. The adventurers showed no mercy as they ruthlessly cut down
the enemy.
Gorbag fired the black feathered bolt, it hurtled through the air striking Smog
the Mighty, the Kobold King. He was lightly wounded in the side. Swiftly Boromir
searched the terrain. He advanced towards the enemy. Horin released the bolt,
hitting the short and fat Kobold. It received a shallow wound. Aiming his light
crossbow, Porin fired the black feathered quarrel, winging the short and fat Kobold,
forcing a scream of agony. Smog the Mighty, the Kobold King grinned maniacally,
striking Horin, making merely a scratch. Lorin released the quarrel, it hurtled
through the air striking the mud splattered Kobold. It was struck in the face.
Having spanned his light crossbow, Ragbok made the shot, the bolt hurtled through
the air striking the short, fat and smelly Kobold. It staggered under the impact of
the bolt. The evil smelling Kobold's dagger glinted in the light before striking
Azog, the blade lightly slicing flesh. After setting a bolt in his light crossbow,
Jorin released the quarrel, it hurtled through the air striking the piggy eyed
Kobold in the throat. Ragbok fired the black feathered quarrel, winging the evil
smelling Kobold, forcing a scream of agony. Boromir slaughtered Smog the Mighty, the
Kobold King while momentarily bending over. The bolt entered the top of his head and
exited at the groin.

evil Goblin deeply in the guts. Dorin fired the black feathered bolt, it hurtled
through the air striking the bulbous nosed Goblin Hero, passing nearly through the

blitzed.
The heroes were laying waste to the monsters.

We travelled 3 sectors, using 11 movement points.
H 16 3 99 -- Azog took everything from our plunder.
SO's
I 0 -- Parka was devoid of any other adventuring parties. We looked around some
of the shops but didn't find anything unusual.
J 9 202 -- Our party went around town, offering 202 for recruits, and are
especially looking for dwarf fighters.
P 0 -- Our party's priests made many devotions. We are rewarded. More power to
the gods!
P 0 -- We prayed to the gods, guided by our priests. There was no noticeable
result. This is a thankless task.
P 0 -- Our priests led worship to the gods. We couldn't get it together. Try
again is the message.
As it got dark, the local tavern became rowdy.
Beer was spilt turning a corner dispute into a tavern brawl. Saruman was pushed
over in the frenzy. The bearded Farmer gave a right uppercut, striking Jorin bow
with a sound crack.
Food fallen from overturned tables caused the rioters to slip. Dorin punched the
nearest person. Mung, the Farmer slipped on vomit and went tumbling to the ground.
Faramir was drenched in water and then slapped by a barmaid. The bearded Farmer was
hit by a serving tray carried by a barmaid. Azog struck Humpty, the Farmer with a
smashed chair. Bates, the Farmer was slid across the bar by the burly barman
smashing glasses and bottles onto the tavern floor.
A merchant was slid across a table, falling off at the end onto the floor below
with a loud crack. Hank, the Farmer was force fed a hank of beef. Azog tore a
handful of the brunette barmaids hair out. She screamed in agony. Humpty, the Farmer
was force fed a hank of beef. Giles, the Farmer tripped over a prone body. Azog
punched the wall when the farmer ducked. Brog, the Farmer was cracked with a bottle
of wine.
A couple of old men started arguing about their bets. Bates, the Farmer was
belted by a magician's spell book. Ragbok punched the wall when the farmer ducked.
Bates, the Farmer leapt from the table, crashing into Ragbok. The pair tumbled to
the ground, both looking hurt. Thomas, the Farmer was cracked over the head with a
chair.
Some old duffers had started fighting after arguing about whether last week's
fight was actually any better. Borin was cracked with a bottle of wine. Brog, the
Farmer hit the buxom barmaid square in the face, knocking her front teeth out.
Jethro, the Farmer slipped on spilt beer, crashing to the ground. Gorbag kicked the
barman in the nuts. Giles, the Farmer was held by a couple of farmers and punched
repeatedly. Bates, the Farmer went down under a bunch of staggering farmers. Brog,
the Farmer jabbed at the blonde bar wench, busting her bottom lip. The fat Farmer
was hit by the buxom barmaid.
A tremendous thunderclap blasted through the tavern as the barman emerged from
behind the bar with a pair of glowing magical wands aimed at the brawl. The fighting
stopped without the need for the second wand to be used. We earned 22 experience
points.
The total distance journeyed was 6 sectors. We're in Parka. We're too cheap to pay
for an inn, so we slept under a hedge. We were able to buy some rations for 5 gold.
Overnight, we were robbed of 910 gold. Thieves must like us, with so much gold it
must be like taking candy from a baby. We regained 37 power points overnight. Our
recruitment offer attracted interest. New applicants statistics are shown below for
3 candidates. Use an X order to have any join. Don't forget it will cost you 202
gold for each one. We read a notice proclaiming that the town council of Parka(50)

This text file about the Quest 2011 Updates/Fixes should be available somewhere online. At the moment it's only on the private FaceBook page and even then its a pain to find as most files are on there (or is it just me???). So here it is for all to read...
Quest Online - The 2011 Overhaul!
Core Game, Engine & World
* Whole new map, whole new world! And bigger than before - now a brand new 250*250 map with DOUBLE the landmass of the old world, plus more dungeons than ever - over 80 dungeons and 150 caves & lairs! Because of all this, everything and everyone has been wiped - it's a whole new beginning! Sign up a new demo party for free, play 20 turns, and then transfer it in!
* New shop restocking system in place. Many item types can now go out of stock, and most rare or unusual items now have much less stock available. Shops will sometimes remove lines that aren't doing well, or they can be cleared by visiting NPCs. Shops will bring in whole new lines of stock from time to time, and can replenish old stock. A number of the more 'unusual' items not previously seen in shops are now sometimes stocked. Shops can even occassionally stock one or two +4 items! Be sure to "I"nvestigate shops regularly to find all of their hidden items.
* The behind-the-scenes engine that powers QOL has been completely re-written! What was an old 16-bit set of applications has been re-written and optimised to run on 64 bit machines - as a result the game engine is much more stable, the game supports higher limits of many things, and turnaround time is much faster!
* The Quest Online Website has had a facelift - it is now easier to find what you want, and turncards have been improved - with a new "popout turncard" (available at the top of the turncard pages) to make playing for extended periods much easier.
* The "free play time" hours have been changed to be much more playable for all! QOL is now free to play between these UK times;
Saturday morning: 09:00-12:00
Sunday morning: 09:00-12:00
Wednesday night: 18:00-21:00
If you're doing nothing on a weekend morning or a Wednesday night, why not play some free QOL!
Groups, Characters & Stats
* Character stats now go all the way up to 500 toughness, 250 awareness, 250 charisma and 250 max health, and have new effects! Note that maximum health only raises above 99 once you take toughness above 250.
* Charisma now reduces the amount of magical damage taken (less so in PVP).
* Awareness now reduces the amount of physical damage taken.
* Toughness/awareness above 250/99 limits will improve weapon speeds slightly.
* "Injury" code has been rewritten to support the new higher health maxes - having a max health over 99 won't make it easier to trigger flee factors or receive loss of movement points/be considered "seriously injured" (a character at 130 out of 250 health won't be running away or slowing you down!).
* Weapon skills can reach 250, with weapon skills above 99 improving critical hit chance. Weapon training from shops is still limited to 80/60 max limits for fighters/non-fighters - reaching the new max 250 limits can be achieved through other means (eg critical hits have a small % chance to naturally raise skills all the way up to 250).
* New weapon skill rating "Master", listed at 200+ weapon skill.
* Encumbrance routine has been re-written. Two mounts of the same type no longer confuses it (one of the mounts will now carry stuff), and toughness above 250 now affects encumbrance (now on a logarithmic scale rather than a linear scale).
* The handling of mounted characters has been re-written to fix a number of bugs, eg a single character on a mule with everyone else on arabians will no longer cause the entire party to move at mule speed.
The mount used most takes priority, for example with 15 characters - 6 on arabians, 5 on mules, 4 on drafts - you will move as if all are on arabians.
A single unmounted character will cause your group to travel at unmounted speed.
Draft horses no longer grant "arabian" speeds when mounted - they now give no speed benefit (they are purely for carrying your stuff!).
* Mule movement speeds have been improved in most terrains. Arabian movement speeds improved slightly in certain terrains. Arabians still have the speed advantage overall, but mules are much more useful as an alternative now, particularly on tougher terrains.
* Maximum amount of moves allowed per turn increased from 24 to 26 squares (allows you to use all of your MP when sticking to roads with a fast movement speed).
* Taking any skills/stats above the old 99/250 limits costs much more experience per level to raise, than it cost to reach the 99/250 levels.
* Strength/awareness/charisma training no longer costs exp if a character is already maxed out (but the gym can still charge you gold for your guided tour!).
* You can no longer teleport directly to a dungeon level unless your party has been to that level before.
* You now get a hint of "more creatures" if there are monsters stacked on top of eachother in a dungeon room.
* Parties stay 'active' in the world without turns for 48 hours, rather than vanishing within an hour of stopping play, and the "OH" on holiday special order has been disabled. Be sure to end your play somewhere safe!
* You can no longer drop flee factor by more than 25% per turn (no more "hit and run" tactics flitting between 100% and 0%!).
* All items sell back to shops for considerably less gold than previously.
* Having a scout already in your party no longer prevents a Knight from joining (Knights appreciate a good scout!).
* "Know Party" 804 miracle works even on groups not currently 'online' in the game (previously only worked if the group had been online that hour!).
* Anti-Annihilation routines (both for PVE and PVP) don't kick in quite so easily - it's now easier to lose characters to tough encounters!
* IF 'P 0's get "stuck", tithing large amounts of gold several times should help, or you can try miracle 304 - but be aware that the higher your priest skill, the less likely a random skill rise becomes with a "P 0" - the final push from 90-99 can sometimes feel to take a long time!
* Too many robs on a shop should no longer crash the engine.
* "Postal address" is no longer displayed anywhere (eg meeting another group) - only email address is given.
* Parties are no longer "anonymous" by default, to aid and encourage communication and activity between players.
Orders & Abilities
* "H 16" hand from plunder now supports codes 81-89 in the item code slot (instead of using 99). This defines a minimum/maximum + level of items to deal with;
If using "H 16 0 8x" to dump/sell plunder, 81-89 is treated as a 'cut-off' point for gear to sell/dispose of, 81 being +1 gear, 89 being +9 gear - eg using 85, your group WON'T sell any items of +5 level or above.
If using "H 16 <char> 8x" to give all plunder to a character, 81-89 is treated as the "minimum requirement" of gear to hand - eg using 85, your character will ONLY take gear of +5 and above from plunder.
* "E 0" - You can now "E"ngage a target of 0, to engage the first NPC group found in your current location (will NOT work for PVP!). This is to help situations where there can be stacks of monsters on top of eachother (particularly in dungeons) - just issue a couple of "E 0" orders in your current location.
* You can now "VA" request an Arena fight immediately after accepting one, without being told the arena is too busy, so you can "return the challenge". You can still have only one actual arena fight per turn, and only one group can be set as "challenged" by you at a time.
* If the "U"se command is given the format "U <char> <char 0-15> <item>" it will work as you meant it to, to keep the order in line with the "H"and item order (otherwise it is still the usual "U <char> <item> <target>" sequence).
For example "U 1 203 0" and "U 1 0 203" will both work to make character 1 drink a potion.
* The "U"se command can now be given an item of 0 to train hand to hand - for example to have character 1 learn hand-to-hand from character 2;
"U 1 0 2" (can also do "U 1 2 0"), or to try and teach themselves "U 1 0 1".
A target character of 0 will cause the character to select their fists as a weapon - eg "U 1 0 0" will set character 1 to use hand-to-hand combat, rather than any held weapons.
* "AG 100000" - Alliance Give gold ("AG") now allows give 100,000 gold per turn (up from 15,000 in QOL).
* Alliance HQs can now stock lockpicks (with sale price able to be set between 75 and 150 per lockpick).
* Item codes in orders are no longer restricted to 6 digits (no longer impossible to interact with items beyond number 999,999).
Monsters & NPCs
* Monster "swallow" attacks are now no longer a simple D20 roll with no influence from anything (other than your ability to kill it quick!) as they previously were.
The monster's size, power, magic and abilities... plus your character's own abilities and buffs, now all influence monster swallow chance.
Be warned, monsters (especially the toughest ones) can now swallow lesser characters much more easily than the old D20 check... but extremely tough and agile characters (particularly when protected with certain spells, miracles and items!) can reduce swallow chances to much lower levels than the old D20 check.
* Gear has a chance based on magic level to survive being "swallowed" - so you might get lucky if you managed to slay the monster that swallowed your stuff!
* The "not weaker" monster consideration for spellcast ASL has been re-written, and should reflect monsters being tougher/weaker than your own group much more accurately - and genuinely only cast on monsters that are actually tough (compared to you).
* Killing some of a monster group but losing the fight no longer means the "random loot generator" on the ones you killed is wasted. Now if you fight 4 dragons, kill two but retreat, the remaining two will get loot generated on them from the two you DID kill, ready to be retrieved!
* Majority of monster group max sizes increased (eg 50 orcs, 50 goblins, 40 elves/dwarves, 5 giants and 5 dragons now possible!).
* Most monsters have been rebalanced, and generally made tougher - particularly mid and high level monsters... be careful!
* Loot for many monsters has improved (many monsters that never gave loot before can now drop loot, and tougher monsters have better loot chances).
* Item drops from monsters have been tweaked - +9 items can now drop from the toughest monsters, and chances of slayer/protection items have also increased.
* Loot list after a fight mentions "And more..." if there were more than 20 items looted (the list of all the items still cuts off at 20).
* Monsters may dump some of the 'junk' items they loot from dead players, rather than always keep everything.
* "Serious Injury" description for monsters now also takes a monster's maximum HP into consideration (it takes a lot for a dragon to be seen as seriously injured!).
* Having stats above 99/250 will not increase the chance of certain monsters draining those stats - draining has been re-written to allow for the new higher stats.
Weapons, Armour & Combat
* A number of (largely minor) legacy bugs throughout the combat engine have been fixed. Eg under certain circumstances, move speeds could be used as hit speeds and hit speeds used as move speeds. Move speeds could be treated as 0 (instant move) immediately after casting a spell, incorrect stats used to defend against certain combat spells and various other similar oddities.
* Flame, poison and bless effects are no longer "cleared" every combat (they now last all turn).
* Combat summaries (PVP and PVE, including Arena fights) now list all characters , not just those that hit something, in the combat summary - along with the health characters finished the fight with next to their names.
* Arena fights now give a total number of kills each group achieved at the end of the fight, to quickly and clearly see who 'won' other than simply who ran away first.
* "Body Armour" now has a damage soak range of 60-100% of the body armour's AR rating per incoming hit (helmet and shield soak is still at 0-100% soak). Critical hits will treat armour to be the old 0-100% soak.
* Body armour "Base" AR's have all been reduced by 1 (so basic cloth is now 3 AR not 4, plate is 13 not 14).
* An item's "+" level on BODY ARMOUR now grants 2 extra AR per level for body armour (still 1 AR per +level for helmets and shields), eg +1 cloth will grant 5 AR, +2 cloth will grant 7 AR, etc.
* Shields now have more impact on combat other than just their AR - the larger the shield, the more critical protection it grants, but larger shields also slow characters down in combat. Small shields grant little extra critical defence, but have next to no impact on speed, whereas large shields do affect speed but give good critical hit defence. Note that a character always automatically holds the highest AR shield they have on them.
* Weapon ranges are now all equal - melee weapons all have a range of 3 and missile weapons a range of 9. However, all weapons now have a new "first swing/shot" variable - an added amount of time to the FIRST swing/shot of a weapon per combat. So a 'longer reaching' weapon such as a halberd (which has a very low "first swing" time) will still get the first hit in over a dagger (which has a very high "first swing" time) despite the old "range stat" now being the same. In effect, this change allows much more fine-tuning and balancing between the weapons than the old ranges, whilst correcting some combat oddities due to the old range system.
* Weapon speeds all re-balanced for all classes, subclasses, terrains etc. - now more fairly balanced between all the types, races, terrains, with focus on preventing any single weapon of a particular class being better "in all situations and terrains". Racial preferences are now much more more noticable.
Note that no weapons have received "the nerfbat" - instead less effective weapons have been improved for various races/terrains/classes.
* Weapon's "+" level grants higher 'max possible damage' (gives more reason to switch from one weapon type to another for an upgrade in + level).
* Weapon skills above 100 now affect critical hit chance correctly, and now also apply to hand-to-hand fighting (not just melee/missile weapons as it used to).
* Critical hits have a (small) chance to naturally raise weapon skill, all the way up to the maximum 250 skill limit.
* Character subclass types now affect their critical defence/attack abilities in monster combat too, not just PVP.
* Fighter prime skill has more influence on combat than previously.
* Spellcasters interrupted by hostile missile fire in PVP combat now have an increased delay before switching to their melee/missile weapons.
* Baldor call spirit in PVP combat now works correctly.
* Too many items on a character/group and engaging in combat no longer crashes the combat engine.
Classes & Class Balance
(details of differences between all races & professions can be found here)
* Paladins and Battle Mages combat cast times are now not affected by armour as much their 'main' non-specialist class.
* Paladins and Battle Mages have reduced base combat cast times.
* Regular unspecialised fighters (no subclass) now have some natural physical damage resistance on all received hits.
* Knights & Footmen now have some armour penetration with their melee hits, based on their prime skill.
* Highly skilled brawlers can now hit normally "non-hittable except by enchantment" monsters.
* Brawlers have a much higher hit-speed than before.
* Brawlers now get some armour penetration with hand-to-hand, depending on their prime skill.
* Archers now get some armour penetration with missile weapons, depending on their prime skill.
* Scouts and Archers do slightly more damage with missile weapons than any other class/type.
* Scouts can scout out more monster groups etc. per turn - with highly skilled scouts being able to investigate many more groups per turn. Scouts also have a better chance of revealing hidden monsters on the map.
* Fighter subclasses have all had their move and hitspeeds tweaked - move speeds particularly. Berserkers still have the speed advantage of charging in to battle first, but other fighter subclasses have been improved based on each sub-class, so the difference between sub-classes is not quite so huge (a pure berserker group is now not quite the "be all and end all" of combat).
* Armour weights affect some subclass attack and move speeds slightly less - particularly footmen and knights (they are still affected by armour, but not by as much).
* Elven Knights can now be recruited.
* Halfblood Peasants can now be recruited.
* Dwarf Berserkers can now be recruited.
* Recruit chances of certain subclasses tweaked slightly.
Spells & Miracles
* Mage prime skill now affects damage done, effectiveness or power of many combat spells.
* A number of miscellaneous hostile combat spells have been tweaked/improved/fixed, to ensure all have a genuine impact on combat in some way. Many mage spells have been made more powerful than any similar-in-nature priest miracles, especially on a powerful mage.
* Characters take a set period of time at the start of combat before they are ready to start casting.
* Mage combat spell cast times are faster (by varying degrees per spell level).
* Priest combat miracle cast times are slightly faster.
* Out of combat healing of spells/miracles improved slightly (especially mage healing).
* Strength miracle no longer increases fighter skill.
* Know Party miracle will now also tell you the subclass of the randomly focused member... but a party with a dedicated/set alignment ("SA") to Fleyshur is immune to the 804 miracle.
* Map Wilderness spells (and buying a "map" item) have the same effect whether you finish your turn in a settlement or not.
Items & Inventories
* All magical rings now work as expected, with a few having their previous effects buffed... they also give more descriptive feedback when first wearing them.
* "Minor Healing" potions now heal for a more useful amount.
* Magic potions now support the new "max stat limits".
* "Random" items (torches, mirrors, furs, bottles etc.) that are laying around loose in dungeon rooms (dropped by groups) now get picked up when doing an "I 0" order - previously these sorts of items would stockpile forever and eventually crash a dungeon room.
* Armour permanent enchant chance brought in line with weapon enchant chance.
* Religious books/magic books on priests/mages now have a practical use.
Turn Files
* Doctype of .HTM turns emailed out fixed.
* Filenames of turns emailed out are now in the format; "Q<game>-<party>-<turn 0-padded to 5 digits>" eg "Q20-1234-00666.htm", with hands-free turns being appended with an "h" ("Q20-1234-00666h.htm"), or a "u" for an automatic update turn. You can now save all of your turns to the same folder without older turns ever being overwritten!
* Slightly increased the max line-length for emailed html turns.
* "Messages to players" now have HTML codes removed for safety.
* Unnecessary top-of-turn event messages such as "Rumour card enclosed..." and "To start a new party..." no longer appear.

Just thought others might like to see some battle reports mainly from Quest Unlimited G20 during the last week.
The Knights and Footmen of Red Mysts (1707) day began simply enough with the clearing of the Tomb of Remorse. Monster filled but without the risk of Giants. Then just as they were preparing to journey on to a slightly deeper dungeon there was news from the far northeast of a trio of Titans bashing upon Linthwaite’s City (6) very walls! Knowing only too well how destructive and dangerous these demigod giants can be the Goddess Novala herself aided our flight to the beleaguered settlement with a Transport miracle. And so they prepared for an epic battle...
As we moved along, we met three Giants(5676). (Blurb given below).
As we got nearer to them, we took a careful look at them. There were three Giants. (
3 Titans). They did not appear to be injured.
We had the element of surprise.
We shouted at them, "Death and Glory!".
Bloodbait's long bow sang, the arrow hitting the looming Titan. It was stunned by
the impact. The gargantuan Titan first struck high then swung upwards, cutting
Bloodbait. He watched as blood trickled from the cut. Hawkeye released the arrow, it
hurtled through the air striking the massive Titan. It was staggered by the point's
impact. Gripping firmly its battle axe, the looming Titan swung, striking Flint
Holyhelm in the arm.
Varris Holyhart cast miracle Healing at Bloodbait. The looming Titan hammered its
massive hooves into Krux Bloodshield in the stomach. The gargantuan Titan grinned
maniacally, striking Hawkeye. He muttered, "Give a child an axe and they think
they're a warrior". The massive Titan grinned maniacally, striking Granite Wall. He
cried, "I'll get you, you bastard".
Willow Spellweaver cast spell Choking Gas.
Lightning flashed and thunder boomed as magic filled the air.
Mhug Nightcaller cast spell Confusion II. At this point there was no turning back.
Violently thrusting his spear, Granite Wall skewered the gargantuan Titan, but
having little effect. The gargantuan Titan's battle axe sliced Willow Spellweaver in
the arm. The looming Titan's battle axe sliced Dour Shieldwall. He laughed, "You hit
like a kobold". Krux Bloodshield struck the massive Titan, causing a minor wound.
Readying for battle its axe, the massive Titan grinned maniacally, striking Slate
Blokhelm. He sought to stem the flow of bright blood.
Varris Holyhart cast miracle Healing at all the party. The massive Titan first
struck high then swung upwards, cutting Bloodbait to the sound of crunching bone.
Violently thrusting his spear, Granite Wall stabbed, hitting the gargantuan Titan.
It was lightly hurt. Always seeking an opening for his great sword, Vex Wyrmblade
hammered it, smashing the looming Titan. It reeled backwards. The leathery creature
staggered under the impact of the blade. The blow bit deep into the arm of the
looming Titan striking it from its body. The creature died. "By the Gods, I bloody
well killed it".
'You're just the first to die today,' was taunted as the first enemy was wasted.
The clash of arms was deafening. Kal Thornblade's great sword hit the massive
Titan. It watched the weapon rend flesh and bone. Rock Wall stabbed the massive
Titan, turning flesh into bloody rags. The rough skin was skewered, the point bit
deeply impaling the leg of the massive Titan. The monster staggered under the impact
of the blow, the leg now useless. The dying beast fell to earth tearing great rents
in the ground.
The deaths of the enemy fired the heroes' blood.
Varris Holyhart cast miracle Healing at all the party. Hefting its battle axe,
the gargantuan Titan smashed through an ineffective defence, striking Bloodbait. He
watched the axe rend flesh and bone. Steel Vaulthart feinted a few times then struck
the gargantuan Titan, the point finding flesh. Bloodbait retreated. Vex Wyrmblade
hammered it, smashing the gargantuan Titan. It spat teeth and blood. Violently
thrusting his spear, Dour Shieldwall skewered the gargantuan Titan, severing major
veins. The fleshy beast's hand was severed from its arm. Suddenly the gargantuan
Titan reeled back in agony as the claw fell to the ground. The dying beast fell to
earth tearing great rents in the ground.
The enemy was dead. We got 29402 gold from the lair of the dead Giants. We acquired items that the Giants left behind. [living ring mail+7, soul stealing halberd+8, life stealing halberd+6, rune etched club+4, demon bound short spear+7 and soul shrouding chain mail+8 of protection from Undead]. We earned 1832 experience points.

TITAN
Demi-god, or the favoured of the gods, these beings are invested with power far beyond mortal reckoning. With just a glance, they are more than capable of turning someone to ashes. They are always armed with mystical weapons and armour that turn all but the most enchanted blades. They will kill any and all that anger them. As they are immortal, they take little interest in revenge and after an encounter will never pursue their opponents.
During our travels, we met three Giants (6820). (Blurb given below).
When we got nearer to them, we took a careful look at them. There were three Giants.
(3 Cyclops). They did not appear to be injured.
We had the element of surprise.
We screamed out, "Death and Glory!".
Kal Thornblade the fighter charged forwards with grim intent. Hawkeye released
the arrow, it hurtled through the air striking the massive Cyclops, but having
little effect. Bloodbait's long bow sang, the arrow striking the gargantuan Cyclops.
It grimaced with the pain. Gripping firmly its axe, the evil Cyclops hacked
Bloodbait. He laughed, "You hit like a kobold". The gargantuan Cyclops's battle axe
sliced Dour Shieldwall, leaving an angry bruise.
Flint Holyhelm cast miracle Healing at Bloodbait. The evil Cyclops's axe struck
Granite Wall. He grasped the cut.
Varris Holyhart cast miracle Healing at all the party. The massive Cyclops first
struck high then swung upwards, cutting Kal Thornblade. He cried, "I'll get you, you
bastard".
Willow Spellweaver cast spell Choking Gas.
Mages summoned energies beyond the comprehension as the air shimmered.
Mhug Nightcaller cast spell Confusion II. Soon it would be more than just oaths
that were traded.
Steel Vaulthart stabbed the evil Cyclops. It grimaced with the pain. Dour
Shieldwall feinted a few times then struck the gargantuan Cyclops. It was nearly
gutted. Granite Wall's spear stabbed the gargantuan Cyclops. It was nearly gutted.
Rock Wall skewered the gargantuan Cyclops. It reeled backwards. The fleshy arm of
the gargantuan Cyclops was viciously punctured and hung useless. Even after it was
killed relentless blows hacked the corpse into pieces.
The chanting of battle songs crescendoed as the first enemy was slain.
Bloodbait's helmet was split by the evil Cyclops's hooves.
Flint Holyhelm cast miracle Healing at all the party. Shoving his spear, Granite
Wall thrust, striking the massive Cyclops, turning flesh into bloody rags. Steel
Vaulthart's spear was forced through ineffective defence, striking the evil Cyclops.
It screamed in agony, blood welling from the vicious wound. The massive Cyclops
kicked out at Drom Greenblade. Drom Greenblade grasped the cut. Kal Thornblade swept
a wicked blow, bashing the evil Cyclops to the sound of crunching bone. Rock Wall's
spear stabbed the massive Cyclops, in a spray of blood. The leathery head was
impaled, from the way the massive Cyclops hung its head, it was obviously a mortal
blow. The dying beast fell to earth tearing great rents in the ground.
With another death, the heroes pressed their momentary advantage.
Krux Bloodshield forced through an ineffective defence, striking the evil Cyclops.
It reeled backwards. Shoving his spear, Slate Blokhelm skewered the evil Cyclops,
passing nearly through the body. The fleshy arm of the evil Cyclops was viciously
punctured and hung useless. The creature collapsed and died, shaking the earth with
its fall.
The enemy was dead. We got 10825 gold from the lair of the dead Giants. We
acquired items that the Giants left behind. [dark oak club+8 of Human slaying, magical mace+5, sun short sword+6 and demon bound warhammer+7 of Human slaying]. We earned 1202 experience points.

CYCLOPS
The cyclops is closely related to the giants but is easily recognizable by the single
large eye in the centre of its forehead. The lack of depth perception due to just one eye
makes the cyclops a clumsy creature but it makes up to some extent with raw power and
meanness. They are not very intelligent and usually fight with a large wooden or stone
club.
This battles from G33 with my Group Blood Brothers (1590) battling a large force of tough Dragons. Setup here is mainly Dwarven Berserkers in cloth armour wielding warhammers.
During our journey, we came across four Dragons(3930). (Blurb given below).
As we got nearer to them, we counted their numbers. There were four Dragons. (1
Elder Dragon and 3 Fire Dragons). They did not appear to be injured.
We screamed out, "In the name of almighty Sundonak, we will crush you to dust
and ashes!".
Faith-mad Bill cast miracle Healing at Ovik Grymaxe. Grizzle Bloodbane
struck, the chains wrapping and striking Ruby the Fire Dragon. It fought
through the pain. As the heroes clashed with the enemy, the presence of death
was all too near.
Variz Silverhammer's warhammer hammered the deep red Fire Dragon. It took
the blow but grunted with pain. Zarlak Lifehammer's warhammer hammered
downwards, bashing the crimson scaled Fire Dragon. It gasped with pain. Vortex
Hammerhelm swept aside all defence, striking the titanic Elder Dragon's
polished scales. Nekro Skullhammer struck the titanic Elder Dragon. It was
thumped good and proper. The titanic Elder Dragon teeth closed shut on Vortex
Hammerhelm, slicing the arm from shoulder to elbow. Vartuse Ironhammer's
warhammer hammered the crimson scaled Fire Dragon but only managing to loosen a
few scales.
The clash of arms was deafening. The titanic Elder Dragon thrust razor sharp
claws into Zarlak Lifehammer. Zarlak Lifehammer was lightly hurt. The titanic
Elder Dragon hammered its prodigious tail into Nekro Skullhammer, making angry
welts. Ovik Grymaxe attacked, not making contact with the deep red Fire
Dragon's leg. The titanic Elder Dragon teeth closed shut on Justin in the arm.
Muldoon Nighthammer grinned maniacally, striking Ruby the Fire Dragon, driving
scales and plates into flesh. Muldoon Nighthammer hammered Ruby the Fire Dragon,
in a spray of blood and shattering bone. The chitinous beast's wing was broken
in several places. Dragging itself backwards Ruby the Fire Dragon retreated in
agony dragging the wing behind it. Even after it was killed relentless blows
hacked the corpse into pieces.
'You're just the first to die today,' was taunted as the first enemy was
wasted.
Swinging overhead his warhammer, Variz Silverhammer first feinted high, then
hammered the deep red Fire Dragon, driving scales and plates into flesh. Crying
"For glory and death!" while swinging his warhammer, Vartuse Ironhammer smashed
the crimson scaled Fire Dragon. It staggered under the blow obviously badly
shaken by the attack. 'Death to all,' was chanted as a second one was killed.
Wounds were given and received. The titanic Elder Dragon's attack raked
Thoric Stormhammer, making merely a scratch. "You know that's gotta hurt!"
Pools of blood mixed with vomit and spilt entrails of the fallen enemy made
the footing hard for the heroes, but still they fought on.
Variz Silverhammer smashed the titanic Elder Dragon. It was nearly beaten to
a bloody pulp. Nekro Skullhammer hammered downwards, bashing the titanic Elder
Dragon, chipping bones and tearing flesh. Wielding his dwarven lord's great axe,
Ovik Grymaxe grinned maniacally, striking the titanic Elder Dragon. It sought
to stem the flow of bright blood. The armour clad leg of the titanic Elder
Dragon was lopped off and lay twitching on the ground. The dying beast fell to
earth tearing great rents in the ground.
The enemy was dead. We got 20811 gold from the lair of the dead Dragons. We
acquired items that the Dragons left behind. [life stealing war flail+6,
rune etched short bow+4, greater rune etched heavy crossbow+5,
living short bow+7 of Goblin slaying and king's helmet+8]. We
earned 2058 experience points.

DRAGON (808)
One of the oldest races on Kharne and certainly the deadliest but fortunately now
very rare. Dragons are solitary creatures and avoid even their own kind (one of the
reasons for the current low population). To call a dragon a large winged lizard is an
insult of the worst kind but it is roughly what they look like. They are highly
intelligent but arrogant, cruel, selfish, and devious. Their weaponry is impressive. They
have razor sharp claws and teeth, and a tail which could stun an elephant. They have an
incredible aura of age and power which can panic their foes in combat. Their long lives
have made them cautious and at the first sign of a battle going against them they will
usually fly away to fight another day.
WHELP
The dragon whelp are small and vicious, hatching with the ability to speak and a cold
cunning that would shame the most heartless of thieves. It is a mistake to believe that
because this creature is only a fraction of an adult's size it is harmless. Its teeth are
still capable of tearing a limb from its socket and its claws will rent even magical
armour. Beware the cute little lizard with smoke escaping from its nostrils.
FIRE DRAGON
Capable of melting even stone, these creatures are truly terrifying. Armour and
weapons become molten, their wielders nothing more than a pile of ashes. That the world
has not been overrun by these monsters is only on account of their need to sleep for
centuries at a time, refilling themselves with the infernos of destruction. Once awakened
from this slumber, they will cause desolation to everything within hundreds of miles. To
wake one before it can be killed is to die.
ELDER DRAGON
The ancient and powerful Dragons are a terrifying sight to behold. They are even
bigger and stronger than their lesser cousins, and thankfully they are rare, even by
Dragon standards. They have recently returned to the world of Kharne, leading many to fear
for the future of civilisation, since the last time they were recorded was over 3000 years
ago, before civilisation as we know it began.

Quest Dungeon Guide
After playing for a while and exploring the wilderness you’ll eventually decide it is time to enter one of the many underground dungeons. Either ones you’ve discovered by accident or been asked to map or clear as a Library/Temple Quest or that a friendly Alliance can send you news on.
There are two very different types of Dungeon. The Lair is very basic with just a single level and often not many rooms. These can contain any monster type including the worst that Quest has to offer so are probably best to avoid for young Groups. The proper Dungeons are 2 to 10 levels deep. From level 3 you can start getting Giants so be warned about their painful swallow attack. Dragons and many other toughest monster types stay past level 6. My advice to young Groups is to stay on levels 1 and 2 for now. You will still get plenty of monsters to battle each Turn gaining magic items, gold, xp, fighter skill increases and weapon skill points.
Setups should be fairly warlike with 7-10 Fighters, 2-3 Priests, 2-3 Mages and 1 Thief/Scout. And it’d be nice to have everyone fully trained with their main weapon and on 99 Health so they can give and take some damage effectively. Priests should mainly be set as Healers with their miracles. The Mages will be vital as its almost impossible to explore down here without some of their spells. Every character should have Backpacks 467 to help with Load ratings, Mirrors 451 to protect against Petrify attacks, Lockpicks 472 to help open locked containers and several Torches 433 to light the way. Each torch lasts 2-3 Turns so plan accordingly.
Essential Mage spells are (these spell numbers are for G20 only as they vary in each game world:
Reveal Monsters (497) – shows which room has monsters or even stacks of them.
Exit Dungeon (542) – moves Group back to wilderness instantly.
Map Dungeon Level (958) – only needs to be cast once then Group remembers it forever.
Reveal Traps (93) – needs to be cast each Turn start to avoid damage from traps.
Optional (and higher level 50+):
Jaunt I (527)
Jaunt II (352)
Reveal Treasure (83)
Move your Group to a known Dungeon location in the wilderness. Issue a D 0 order to descend. Cast spell Map Dungeon Level and Reveal Monsters.
Next turn cast Reveal Traps. Move to each Room containing monsters as shown last Turn using an Investigate room number order. Issue 1 or more E 0 in each room to grind down any potential stack of monsters. Sometimes there can be massive stacks of monsters in the same room so be warned! Cast Reveal Monsters at end of Turn to show which rooms still contain targets for next Turn. Its also worth Investigating any found gold bags with an I 474 order, sharing the gold with N 0 and Resting with R 4 to use up any unspent movement points.
Once level 1 is clear issue D 2 to descend and move to room marked with ‘Stairs down’. Issue D 0 to stay on that new level. Cast spell Map Dungeon Level and Reveal Monsters. And begin the cycle over again until this next level is cleared.
You can also set Speed while down there just as you would with Wilderness and Settlements. S (1=Fast/2=Normal/3=Cautious). Fast speed will give you more movement points to spend each Turn.
Casting Exit Dungeon will teleport your Group to the dungeon entrance in the wilderness.
Any Horses your Group has are automatically left at the Dungeons entrance all safe and fed. Upon exiting you will gather all of them but will need to remount as required. RM 99 702 for remount all on Arabians.
Remember to take plenty of spell powders with you as they can get used very quickly depending on auto-casting setup.
Upon returning to the nearest City your Group may require some healing or have negative effects in place like poisoned, diseased or low Energy. The temple of Baldors Full Healing service 606 will fix all this so B 99 0 606 is a smart move.

Quest Unlimited G20 News 25/9/22
The Knights and Footmen of Red Mysts (1707) day began simply enough with plans to clear all 10 levels of the Catacomb of Misery. In the area were many large forces of unknown Giants that were just too tempting to refuse. The first encounter was with 4 mighty Titans resulting in the death of Bloodbait the Peasant forcing a hasty dash to a nearby Town with a temple of Baldor. Once resurrected they rushed back to the area finding 5 more Titans! The unlucky Peasant died yet again and many were seriously injured. And so it was back to a nearby City to ask for the healing Gods aid. Now they could finally head for and clear the Dungeon as planned.
During our journey, we came upon four Giants (8781). (Blurb given below).
As we drew closer to them, we gave them the once over. There were four Giants. (4
Titans). They did not appear to be injured.
We screamed out, "Death and Glory!".
Looking for trouble, Hawkeye the halfblood scoured the nearby trees. He set off
towards the foe intent on battle. The massive Titan hacked Bloodbait in the stomach.
The colossal Titan's great axe hacked Varris Holyhart. He was lightly hurt. A minor
magical blast from the massive Titan struck Bloodbait.
Flint Holyhelm cast miracle Healing at Bloodbait. A minor magical blast from the
colossal Titan struck Bloodbait. The massive Titan thumped Varris Holyhart. Varris
Holyhart fought through the pain. The hulking Titan's battle axe sliced Kal
Thornblade. He cried, "I'll get you, you bastard". The massive Titan brought death
to Bloodbait. He was knocked to the ground, thrashing as his life blood trickled
away.
Attempts were made to hold the ground around the corpse of the fallen comrade.
The huge Titan struck Mhug Nightcaller, forcing a grunt of pain. The colossal
Titan chopped wildly, slicing Dour Shieldwall. He cried, "I'll get you, you bastard".
Willow Spellweaver cast spell Choking Gas.
The tingle of magic rippled across the battle.
Hawkeye's long bow sang, the arrow hitting the massive Titan, the point finding
flesh. The massive Titan swung, striking Slate Blokhelm, opening a shallow cut. The
colossal Titan struck Rock Wall. He grimaced with the pain.
Flint Holyhelm cast miracle Healing at all the party. The enemies first screams
of pain were heard.
The massive Titan hacked Hawkeye on the shoulder. Violently thrusting his spear,
Krux Bloodshield struck the colossal Titan, but having little effect. A minor
magical blast from the hulking Titan struck Kal Thornblade. Rock Wall's spear was
forced through ineffective defence, striking the huge Titan, leaving a light wound.
The hulking Titan feinted a few times then struck Krux Bloodshield close to the face.
Kal Thornblade smashed into ineffective defences, striking the hulking Titan, making
merely a scratch. The massive Titan's battle axe struck Granite Wall in the leg. The
huge Titan grinned maniacally, striking Flint Holyhelm. He staggered backwards. The
colossal Titan smashed through an ineffective defence, striking Willow Spellweaver
close to the face. Kal Thornblade hammered it, smashing the hulking Titan. It
grimaced with the pain. Taking careful aim with its axe, the huge Titan chopped
wildly, slicing Vex Wyrmblade. He was staggered by the axe blow.
Threats of brutality were thick in the air as the fighters clashed. Drom
Greenblade swung, striking the massive Titan to the sound of crunching bone. Krux
Bloodshield stabbed, hitting the colossal Titan. It was nearly knocked to the ground.
A minor magical blast from the hulking Titan struck Granite Wall. Shoving his short
spear, Varris Holyhart stabbed, hitting the colossal Titan, in a spray of blood. The
hairy arm was struck from the colossal Titan's body and rolled across the ground.
The creature collapsed and died, shaking the earth with its fall.
A vocal battlecry was vented as the first enemy was destroyed.
The huge Titan feinted a few times then struck Vex Wyrmblade, slicing through
flesh. Impetuously Drom Greenblade swung, missing the hulking Titan.
Blows hammered home. Dour Shieldwall feinted a few times then struck the huge
Titan. It was nearly knocked to the ground. Krux Bloodshield stabbed, hitting the
huge Titan, forcing a scream of agony. The fleshy beast's head was penetrated by the
sharp point. Suddenly the huge Titan reeled back in agony and horror of its own
mortality. The still beating heart was cut from the creature and raised in offer to
the gods.
With two of the enemy slain, the heroes fought on with purpose.
Stabbing his spear, Rock Wall stabbed, hitting the hulking Titan, forcing a
scream of agony. Vex Wyrmblade feinted a few times then struck the hulking Titan. It
was smashed backwards. The scarred beast's arm was severed from its shoulder.
Suddenly the hulking Titan reeled back in agony as the claw fell to the ground. The
mighty creature staggered for a few moments then fell, threatening to squash any in
the way.
The enemy fled. We found the body and took the money off it. We got 31324 gold

retreated. Steel Vaulthart's god's plate mail prevented his throat from becoming
staved in by the evil Titan's vicious kicks. The colossal Titan feinted a few times
then struck Dour Shieldwall. He cried, "I'll get you, you bastard". The evil Titan
annihilated Bloodbait by hacking his arms off, then the legs. All that was left was
a bloody torso.
Blood seeped into the ground.

OVERFIEND
These creatures are forces of devastation incarnate, delighting in not only killing their enemies. The sheer destructive way they go about doing this often kills allies. The large scale attacks that the creature does seem to be designed to do the most damage to the most things. They resemble Balrogs, but are huge in comparison and are much more intelligent. They rarely appear on Kharne, and luckily when they do they are normally carrying out a Quest for the Lord of Destruction, and thus are too busy to go on mad rampages across the land, although there have been a few cases of this happening.

The Way of the Thief
Here's some advice for new Groups and how to get the best from your sneaky Thief. In no time at all they'll be bringing in 1000's of gold each Turn with none of the risks of combat. Use this to easily fund 2002 gold recruiting and for equipping everyone.
My preferred setup has 4 Priests (1 of each Race), 1 Elf Mage and 1 Halfblood Thief. Starting characters do vary a lot in terms of stats between poor and slightly above average. Halfbloods get a Racial bonus to thief skill so should at least be ok in this role. The reason for 4 Priests is that I’m hoping for near or above 40 skill on some of them. Their miracles will be essential support for the sneaky Thief who's hopefully got 40+ skill if not 50+. As for the Elf Mage they can start really poor especially in Toughness/Health so may need replacing as soon as golds flowing properly. 2002 gold will yield much better results on all the recruits.
Turn begins with setting standing orders. 2 Investigates (I 0) as Settlements have lots of hidden shops. And 3 Pray orders (P 0's) to start Priests skill improving each Turn eventually to 50+ when the increases become more random.
Thief buys a lockpick 472 to help with shop robbing.
Priests cast some Novala miracles like Luck 702 and Hide 703 depending on what they have access to.
2 fairly easy shops are robbed usually food shops or similar. Though if starting Thief skill is 50+ you could try somewhere slightly more difficult.
Cheapest journey bought to nearest City for more shops to rob from and stat training services.
3 Inn shops talked to generating 1-3 NPC's to rob. Usually shops 22, 24, 26, 28 or something like that. Might need to try this again on other shops if you got no NPC's from Inns but that is extremely rare.
Alignment has started pushing to Novala thanks to Miracles and rob orders.
Next Turn is usual Priests Novala miracles. 2 shop robs W. Rest of Turn Stealing from NPC('s) found last turn.
Whenever the thief has 200 xp buy their skill training 614. Eventually you'll hit max 99 skill this way.
When Priests all have 40+ skill or at least most of them switch to this casting instead:
cast call spirit novala 903
cast hiding 703
W bank 1
W bank 2
cast insanity 603
W bank 3
W bank 4
cast insanity 603
W gem shop 1
W gem shop 2
Steal from NPC's a bit
Train thief with 614
Bank gold as if you've over 5k the settlement auto-thieves will swarm in.
The Insanity miracle 603 is cast to reset difficulty levels and prevent us being booted from the settlement. Though even if we are we can just Locate our way back in without any problems.
Keep moving settlements when gold reward gets too low. This resets after a day or so. This decrease only happens in Quest Unlimited G20/19 not the other game worlds.
Cities always have 4 banks and 2 gem shops. Towns have 3 banks and 1 gem shop. Villages have none.
You can also lock alignment on Novala with SA 7 once it is 13+ strong.
You can also borrow 1k gold from the bank around turn 7 if funds are tight as they often are early game. At some point in the far distant future you may be called upon to pay it back with 10% interest but you'll have plenty of gold by then.
In terms of shop difficulty they go something like this. Also note reward in gold/xp varies with difficulty so don't expect much from the easiest shops.
Unused Shops often found with an I 0 order and having nothing for sale.
Food Shops selling rations/Inns selling Sleep 604.
Temples/Stores/Magic Shop. 40+ skill thief should do fine targeting these.
Weapon/Armour/Powder shops plus you can sometimes get a free item.
Banks/Gem shops. Really need a high skill Thief for these say about 70 skill with proper Novala miracle support for fair success rates. Will often bring in over 1k per shop. Though you will need to move around as gold gets lower each time its hit.
