Quest Unlimited G20 Hints and Tips.
Don’t forget the 5 standing orders. You’d be surprised how many new Players miss this.
Set 3 of the standing orders as Praying to all Gods so P 0’s. This will keep Priests skill rising each Turn at least into the 50’s. After that increases become much more random though you should still keep the 3 P 0 standing orders in place.
Buy your thief a lockpick 472 as this will help with robbing from shops.
Backpacks 467 will help with Load ratings as will Horses. Riding Horses will also help with movement rates.
Move to a City (1-20) as it has more shops and services. You also get a slightly bigger free map.
Buy a spade and shovel 465 to dig up treasure in the wilderness.
While gold is tight you can offer 202 gold for recruits. They won’t be great and probably only temporary at the very early stage of play. Stick with Dwarven and Halfblood fighters at this amount. Possibly Human.
When gold is flowing offer 2002 gold for the best recruits. Or 4004 gold in the case of Knights. Call Spirit Novala 903 and a few Luck of Novala’s 702 can’t hurt with stats.
Buy everyone a Mirror 451 as they’ll help against gaze attacks from some special monsters.
Combat is extremely dangerous early on so try to focus on using your Thief and have the Priests cast Novala’s luck type miracles to help.
As well as robbing shops you can also target NPC’s. To generate them just talk to shops with the T order. The Inn type shops selling sleep service 604 are usually best.
All stat training in Quest Unlimited G20 costs XP so that is just as important as gold.
Once you’ve built up 2000 XP you can buy Temple Quests 611 (TQ’s). There are several types and all very rewarding in gold and XP.
Once you’ve built up 4000 XP you can buy Library Quests 611 (LQ’s). There are several types of a mapping nature and all very rewarding in gold and XP.
Save the Dungeons at least until you’ve trained Health to 99 (max 250). They can have a lot of monsters stacked in each room. Giants stay on levels 3-10. And Dragons on 7-10.
Lairs are single level Dungeons often with just a few rooms but can obtain any random monster including some of the very worst types.
If you try to fight a monster that’s way too tough and would’ve resulted in many dead characters then the fight will be refused. This is thanks to the ‘anti-annihilation routine’.
Some huge monsters have a special ‘Swallow’ attack completely destroying characters including their horses. You can sometimes recover lost + items if you kill the monster of course. Most of the Giants and Dragons have this form of attack as well as a few others.
