Tell us a little bit about it, Nebless.

Basics:  Each turn sheet is 4 pages long.  Has the standard stats, equipment and character information areas of course, but also has space for the current (local) terrain map that shows the 3 hexes (each hex 5miles) around your position which you can use to locate where you're at on the big map over on the website.

Along with that you have spaces for standing orders, current orders, notes to the GM and player notes and a space for a map which I'm guessing is where you can plot out your combat move to show what you wish to do to go along with your current orders.

For my first turn I visited the Marketplace to pick up weapons and listen for rumors or job offers and then went to explore the waterfront to do the same.

My results back had a very lengthy reply on what I bought, heard / saw in both of the places and he sent me to the local tavern for lunch where I 'saw' a couple of other players, heard of 1 other and picked up some more information.  I ended up with 4 jobs I could explore so pretty good return there.  Plus one posted by another player on one of the game forums (wanting to group for one of the jobs I heard about).
------
Overall impression:  Looking good.
It's in beta so things might change and hopefully he'll evaluate the feedback we give him, but so far it looks like it's going to be a good retro play by (e) mail game of the old school.  He is doing it on his own (GM) so you have to wonder where his 'I'm swamped' point will be.  Looks like we're up to 20 players now.

Personal impression is he's got some extra boxes on the turn sheets, but maybe they'll come into play down the road.  Player/GM Notes and Player/GM messages seem like there's some overlap there.

Right now there's a bit of confusion / lack of use of the various game forums he has on the website, but I just saw a post where he put out what should go where so I think that'll get itself straightened out as time goes by.
------
For my character; one of the Temples wants a message delivered to a village south of the Town I'm in AND there's a Noble over on the Waterfront looking for a Bodyguard to go to the same village, so I'm going for a twofer and will try to get the message job, THEN the bodyguard job and have the Noble pay my way south.

Yup, I’m playing too - got my first turnsheet in and eagerly awaiting Gads’ reply. On first look, it looks gorgeous, a lot of work has gone into this, and, as I vaguely remember Gads from old school 80s and 90s games like Saturnalia and Æs, I’m really hopeful for this.

Natasha’s currently looking round town, getting her bearings – I’ll try and report back on her progress. (Nice to resurrect a character from 35 years ago!)

Cheers,

Rich.

I'm trying this game too. Startup is complete so now waiting for Turn 1.

Playing a male Human Priest called Jorn Amblecrown of the Golddrop Family. Focus is on Healing through miracles, skills and herbalism.

Most stat points in Wisdom with a little in Intelligence. Physical stats are very weak. He will not be melee/missile fighting much.

Looking forward to playing this.

Jorns adventure begins in the Cty of Narabad. Having only just arrived with very little knowledge of the place so there will be much to explore and learn. Starting of course with a visit, pray and tithe to the temple of Ikinadari (The God of Light, The Light Bringer, The Giver of Life, Father of Life.) A few other adventurers have already stopped by to say hello. Including an Elven Priest called Titus. He brings worrying news of a Plague and hints that it may be deserved. This could be the perfect test of my faith and healing skills since finishing training at the temple.

GM Gads has gathered just over 30 adventurers so far with about 10 still at the character creation stage. He's also sent out a colourful map for a nearby village called Bordon. How any GM keeps track of everything while staying sane in hand-moderated games like this is completely beyond me!

The easy answer to that is: I am not sane.  Wanting to run a hand-moderated game is a clue to ones sanity :-)

LOL Does this mean your players are in for an insane adventure?

You could say that.  There is one player who has been rather unfortunate with a combo of decisions AND my dice rolls.  Made me smile...a little.  Infact I am due to process his turn next.  I'm sure his run of initial bad luck has fizzled out now.  I hope so.
