Games Mastership: How to design and run a Play-By-Mail game was a book/booklet published by Carol and Ken Mulholland, both of which published the PBM magazine, Flagship.
Sadly, both Carol and Ken have passed away. I never knew Ken, but I did know Carol, and she unfortunately passed away before we could convert all back issues of Flagship into PDF format. If she were only alive, today, I honestly believe that Flagship would be cooking with Crisco, and enjoying a rise in its subscription numbers. There’s so much more that she could do, now. Truly, she was a dedicated editor for Flagship magazine, and I hate like hell that she passed away.
Carol Mulholland well understood that technology was crucial to Flagship’s future, but it just wasn’t quite where it needed to be, at the time of her passing. Now, with Canva as an example, Carol would have been able to do the layout of each issue of Flagship, herself. Nonetheless, she persevered, and a great many issues of Flagship magazine got published that otherwise would never have seen the light of day.
Rest in peace, both Carol and Ken Mulholland!
The Games Mastership: How to design and run a Play-By-Mail game is, I believe, soon to be published anew. Jon Capps of Talisman Consulting will be handling this, as far as I know. There is no date provided, yet, on what the time frame for that undertaking might be.
Jon Capps is the new editor of Suspense & Decision magazine.
